Cory Borman | Smarter Learning Accountability Beats Tutoring
About Cory Borman
Cory Borman is the founder of Swoon Learning, a Prescott, Arizona-based tutoring and education technology company. His work focuses on helping students build accountability, organization, and follow-through, skills he had to build in himself first after being diagnosed with ADHD.
Cory serves students and families who need more than generic tutoring, along with schools that need better tools to catch a struggling student before they fall too far behind. His approach is built around systems, not shortcuts, using accountability frameworks that were forged from his own experience managing executive function challenges.
Cory has been a guest on the Brotherhood Beyond Business Podcast, where he discussed ADHD, accountability systems, education, and why most schools intervene too late.

Expertise & Professional Focus
Cory's professional focus sits at the intersection of behavioral psychology, education, and software. Before founding Swoon Learning, he worked in applied behavioral analysis alongside kids on the autism spectrum, and later helped scale a hardware and software company to $65-70 million in annual recurring revenue before it was acquired.
What makes his approach different is that he doesn't separate the human side of learning from the systems side. Swoon Learning's tools are built around the same Kanban-based accountability structure Cory has used to manage his own ADHD, applied now to help students track their work and stay organized.
His work is especially valuable for families with student athletes, neurodivergent learners, and any student who is bright but struggles with task initiation, organization, or follow-through. It's also increasingly relevant for schools that want earlier insight into which students are starting to fall behind.
Building a Business in Prescott, AZ
Cory has built Swoon Learning around a real gap he saw in education: schools are often reactive, stepping in only after a student's grades or attendance have already declined. His company works to change that by giving both families and schools tools to intervene earlier.
Swoon Learning operates through two connected verticals. One is one-on-one and small-group academic coaching for students. The other is Front Office, a school-facing software platform that helps private schools and institutions track homework, attendance, and early signs that a student needs support.
As a founder, Cory brings a product-first mindset to education. He and his team use their own software internally, a practice he calls "eating your own dog food," to make sure the tools they build for students and teachers actually hold up in daily use.
Philosophy & Approach
Cory believes that struggling with focus, organization, or follow-through isn't a character flaw. It's often a sign that a person needs a better system, not more willpower. That belief shapes everything Swoon Learning builds.
His approach is grounded in accountability and human connection. He believes education works best when a real person, not just a screen, is checking in on a student's progress. That's why Swoon Learning keeps academic coaches at the center of its tutoring vertical, even as it builds out more software-driven tools for schools.
Cory's long-term mission is to help students, and eventually international students preparing to study in the U.S., become more independent and accountable, not by removing the human element from learning, but by giving that human element better tools to work with.
About Swoon Learning
Swoon Learning is a Prescott, Arizona-based tutoring and education technology company built around accountability and early intervention. Through one-on-one academic coaching and its Front Office software platform, the company helps students stay organized while giving schools earlier visibility into who needs support.
Swoon Learning primarily partners with private schools, homeschool families, and international students, offering both direct tutoring and a school-facing tool that tracks homework, attendance, and progress in one place. The company is also actively hiring academic coaches from top universities to work directly with students.
What sets Swoon Learning apart is its focus on keeping a human coach at the center of the learning process, even as its software becomes more sophisticated. The goal isn't to replace teachers or parents, but to give students, schools, and families a clearer, earlier picture of how a student is really doing.
