About Josh Lederer

Josh Lederer is the owner of Recovery Electric, a Prescott-area electrical services company built around reliability, professionalism, family, and community. Based in Dewey, Arizona, Josh brings years of commercial and residential electrical experience into a business designed to provide customers with dependable service without the typical frustrations that come with hiring a contractor.

Before launching Recovery Electric, Josh spent nearly a decade working in the electrical trade, including work with the National Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in California and commercial electrical projects connected to major entertainment and construction projects. His experience helped him develop the technical knowledge, leadership skills, and work ethic that now shape his approach as an entrepreneur.

Josh has also built his life around family, faith, sobriety, and service. His personal journey has given him a strong perspective on ownership, gratitude, perseverance, and what it means to build a business that supports the life you actually want to live.

Josh joined the Brotherhood Beyond Business Podcast for Episode 47, where he discussed building Recovery Electric, leaving the security of a union career, creating more freedom for his family, serving the Prescott community, and the legacy he wants to leave for his children.

Expertise & Professional Focus

Josh's professional focus is electrical contracting, business ownership, customer service, and building a company around trust and accountability.

His background includes extensive commercial electrical experience and nearly a decade working within the electrical trade. His work has included large-scale commercial projects, entertainment-related construction, and leadership responsibilities where he was trusted to manage crews and keep projects moving.

That experience shaped how Josh approaches Recovery Electric today. He believes customers should know who they are hiring, understand the value of licensed, bonded, and insured electrical work, and receive clear communication throughout the process.

Josh also places a strong emphasis on training his team. Rather than simply putting inexperienced workers into company trucks, he wants his electricians to have the experience and knowledge necessary to confidently work on the same homes he would trust them to work on for his own family.

Building Recovery Electric in Prescott, Arizona

Josh founded Recovery Electric after making the difficult decision to leave the security of his union career and build something of his own.

The decision was driven by more than money. After years of working long hours and commuting significant distances for work, Josh wanted to be more present for his wife and two sons during what he considers some of the most important years of fatherhood.

Moving to the Prescott area gave Josh and his family an opportunity to build a different kind of life. Recovery Electric became a way to combine his electrical experience with his desire for greater flexibility, family involvement, and community connection.

The company has grown quickly, expanding from its early days of serving friends and local customers to a team of five people operating four trucks.

Josh intentionally focuses on keeping customers from waiting weeks for service. Recovery Electric generally works within a five-to-ten-day window whenever possible because Josh understands that electrical problems often cannot wait.

Customer experience is another major differentiator. Recovery Electric uses shorter appointment windows rather than forcing customers to sit at home for an entire morning or afternoon. Josh believes respecting a customer's time is part of providing good service.

Philosophy & Approach

Josh's philosophy is built around doing what you say you are going to do.

He believes showing up, communicating clearly, treating people with respect, and taking care of customers can separate a local business from its competition.

That philosophy is especially important in the Prescott and Quad Cities area, where relationships and word of mouth carry significant weight. Josh understands that one customer can lead to several more through referrals, which makes every interaction an opportunity to build trust.

His approach is also deeply connected to his family and personal growth. Josh wants his children to see him living the values he teaches them: work hard, serve others, be accountable, show up for people, and take responsibility when things go wrong.

He also believes entrepreneurs should remember that business problems are part of the journey. Whether it is a difficult customer, a scheduling issue, or a significant unpaid invoice, Josh's perspective is to deal with the problem, learn from it, and keep moving forward.

About Recovery Electric

Recovery Electric is a Prescott-area electrical services company serving Dewey, Prescott, Prescott Valley, and the surrounding Quad Cities community.

The company provides electrical services with an emphasis on professionalism, communication, reliability, and customer service. Recovery Electric is licensed, bonded, and insured and focuses on putting experienced electricians in the field who Josh trusts to work on his own home.

One of the company's core service philosophies is respecting the customer's time. Recovery Electric offers shorter appointment windows whenever possible and communicates with customers when circumstances change.

The company also operates as a community-focused business. Through its social media presence and Feature Friday initiative, Recovery Electric highlights other local businesses and entrepreneurs throughout the Quad Cities area.

Feature Friday is designed to give local businesses additional exposure at no cost to the businesses being featured. Josh sees this as a way to strengthen the local business community, keep money circulating locally, and introduce residents to businesses and services they may not know about.

Recovery Electric's philosophy extends beyond electrical work. Josh wants the company to become a trusted part of the community — a business people can call not only when they have an electrical problem, but when they need a trustworthy recommendation or connection.
